Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST)

The Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology is a research-oriented public university with a special status, wholly owned by the Egyptian government. It was established pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 149 of 2009, and granted an independent legal personality as a public educational institution under Presidential Decree No. 139 of 2014.

The university is jointly supported by the Japanese and Egyptian governments, based on the bilateral agreement signed in Cairo on March 26, 2009. E-JUST takes on the responsibility of preparing highly qualified human cadres, aiming to enhance and develop human capacity building in the fields of science and technology, particularly in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Arab countries, and Africa.

E-JUST actively contributes to technological advancement and supports innovation within the national science and technology ecosystem. It elevates the standards of higher education, scientific research, and innovation by aligning its strategic goals with the needs of society and industry. The university’s curricula, research plans, training models, and administrative systems are designed in accordance with the latest practices found in premier Japanese universities and research centers. Implementing the cutting-edge scientific and technical systems utilized in Japan, E-JUST proudly stands as the first Japanese university established outside of Japan.
